Professional Experience
Nikki is a partner in the firm’s litigation, eminent domain, and environmental & natural resources practice groups.
Nikki has substantial litigation and arbitration experience in complex matters involving commercial contract disputes, eminent domain, federal and state environmental laws, land use disputes, and construction disputes.
Nikki has advised public and private condemnors and private property owners in more than 100 eminent domain matters in Oregon and Washington.
Prior Experience
Prior to joining Cable Huston in 2013, Nikki worked as a Business and Torts Litigation associate at Jones Day in Chicago. While at Jones Day, Nikki focused her practice on complex commercial disputes and labor and employment cases in both state and federal courts. Prior to working at Jones Day, Nikki served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Jeffrey S. Sutton, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
Professional Activities
Nikki is a member of the Federal Bar Association, Oregon Bar Association, Washington Bar Association, Multnomah Bar Association, and Oregon Women Lawyers.
Nikki has been a member of the firm’s Management Committee since 2019.
Nikki regularly presents on eminent domain topics, including for the Oregon Chapter of the International Right of Way Association (IRWA). She also has presented on “Condemnation Blight” at Oregon’s biennial Eminent Domain conference.
Nikki also is active in the community. She is on the Board of Directors of the Japan-America Society of Oregon (JASO) and a member of the Women’s Leadership Committee. She also has been a mentor in the District of Oregon’s Re-Entry Court Program and a judge for the Oregon High School Mock Trial Competition.
